UPPER FACE AESTHETIC: FOREHEAD
One of the first aspects of beauty that is noticed is the upper face starting with forehead and eyes.
Botox is used to relax forehead muscles that cause deep etched lines in the forehead (called "worry lines")
Botox is also used to treat wrinkles in between eyebrows (called "angry 11s")
UPPER FACE AESTHETIC:
Early aging signs are shown around the eyes. Area around the eyes has very delicate skin that becomes lax and wrinkles showing signs of aging faster than the rest.of your face.
Lack of sleep, stress, genetics, age related volume loss all play a role in aging the skin around the eyes
Microbotox can be used to treat fine wrinkles undereyes where small amounts of Botox is placed in very superficial and delicate undereye area
Another use for Botox is to treat lines that start from the corners of the eyes (called "crows feet")
LOWER FACE AESTHETIC: SAD FACE LINES
Loss of support in the lower face that naturally occurs with aging, causes. downturning of corners of the mouth giving the appearance of a sad face.
The condition is treated by injecting muscles that pull the corners of the mouth down and by injecting filler into areas of volume loss causing downturned mouth.
LOWER FACE AESTHETIC: CHIN DIMPLING
Chin dimpling or peau d orange appearance of the chin is caused by excessive contraction of chin muscle called mentalis. This muscle can be relaxed with Botox smoothening appearance of the chin.

THIS HELPS "JAW SLIMMING" AESTHETIC THAT IS DESIRABLE TO MANY.
Hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating is one of the approved indications for Botox.
Botox cosmetic is diluted and injected underarms using tiny microneedles using Mesoram technique.
There is no one size fits all method of treatment when it comes to the number of units used to treat with Botox.
Number of units depend on your muscle location, strength of muscles, and can be variable from treatment to treatment
Botox usually lasts 3-4 months, and again has individual variability.
The age to start Botox treatments depends on individual preference.
At Redefyne MD and most aesthetic practices recommend starting Botox treatments as early as in 20s, called "baby botox" to prevent wrinkles.
However, we respect each individual's decision about cosmetic treatments and our goal is to enhance your confidence through improving your appearance.
Botox is injected meticulously into muscles that cause cosmetic concerns predominantly wrinkles.
Is there pain or downtime?
The needles used to inject Botox are insulin needles and are very small.
There is minimal discomfort with injections as much as a tiny needle prick.

Who is not a candidate for Botox?
- Botox and other cosmetic procedures are contraindicated meaning not recommended in pregnant/breast feeding women. Let us know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- If you have neuromuscular disorders such as Myasthenia Gravis, Botox is contraindicated.
Your complete medical history is important to us so we may give you the best results
PRE-PROCEDURE BOTOX INSTRUCTIONS:
- Avoid blood thinning medications such as aspirin and medications called NSAIDs such as
Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve, and other NSAIDs.
- Avoid vitamins and herbal over the counter supplement such as Vitamin E, gingko biloba,
ginseng, St John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil.
- Avoid alcohol at least 24 hours prior to your treatment
- Start Arnica tablets/pellets 5 pellets three times a day, 2 days before the procedure
POST-PROCEDURE BOTOX INSTRUCTIONS:
- Do NOT touch/manipulate/massage the treated area for at least 4 hours after your treatment.
- Do NOT lie down for 4 hours after your Botox treatment. This will prevent Botox from
tracking down your eye and cause drooping of your eyelid. No donut holes, massage,
acupuncture and other activities that involve lying down.
- No strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, for 24 hours
- Do NOT receive laser treatments, facials, microdermabrasion treatments for 7-10 days.
Discuss with your provider if you are planning on getting other treatments.
- Slight bruising may be seen after your procedure, take Arnica tablets to help improve
bruising. Continue taking Arnica tablets 5 pellets three times a day 2-3 days after the
procedure.
